HOLLYWOOD, CA (Gosh!TV) 3/8/2011 – “Fans of the show around the world deserve a really respectful ending,” says Hannah Montana Miley Cyrus. The Disney Channel aired the series finale in January 2011 to 6.2 million viewers, the channel’s highest ratings ever in the hour for total viewers and kids age 6 to 11.
Hannah Montana premiered in 2006, shot over 100 episodes and was aimed for tweens. The humor was silly and corny at times, but fun. As Miley Cyrus grew up her character had to grow up too. At times the humor stayed the same and didn’t age with the character and audience. In this the last year it did improve. They all seemed to grow up, even Robby Ray Stewart, played by Billy Ray Cyrus, Miley’s real life father. It would have been interesting to see how Lilly, played by Emily Osment, Miley’s best friend, did in college without Miley and could have given Disney a new series.
Miley Stewart a.k.a. Hannah Montana is a girl growing up. She and her best friend Lilly have senior year and are getting ready for college. Will Miley shed persona of rock star Hannah Montana or is it still the best of both worlds? What about if there’s an offer to star in a movie with Tom Cruise?
This two-disc DVD has all 13 episodes from the final season, has the cast goodbyes, a series retrospective, an exclusive alternate ending and a 28-page commemorative Hannah Montana memory book with history/trivia, a Hannah Montana autographed photo and more. Guest on this final season are special guest stars Sheryl Crow, Cody Linley, Vicki Lawrence, Dolly Parton and more.
