Harry Nilsson, the American singer-songwriter called the 5th Beatle
HOLLYWOOD, CA (Gosh!TV) 9/17/2010 – “He created One Is the Loneliest Number, the theme song from Midnight Cowboy, and the Put the Lime in the Coconut theme song for Coca-Cola commercial,” says Who Is Harry Nilsson? director John Scheinfeld. “Harry Nilsson created an impressive body of work, either songs he recorded or songs that he wrote. They have stood the test of time. There are many tracks of Harry’s that sound fresh today.”
At a John Lennon and Paul McCartney press conference in 1968, Lennon was asked to name his favorite American artist. He said, Nilsson. Paul was asked to name his favorite American group. He said, Nilsson. “Harry and his music matter so much to people I admire,” says Scheinfeld. “The Beatles. The Who. Randy Newman.” In 1970, Harry Nilsson recorded an entire album of Newman compositions called Nilsson Sings Newman. Nilsson’s success came at a time when drugs and alcohol were big in American culture, particularly in the music business. Scheinfeld creates a loving and sentimental portrait that also shows the dark side of Nilsson.
“That incident at the Troubadour has been talked about and written about in almost every history of the Beatles,” says Scheinfeld. “It shows up on the top ten lists of misbehavior by rock stars. I wanted to tell the real story of (more…)

HOLLYWOOD, CA (Gosh! TV) 8/15/2010 – “Adam Shankman told us it would be one big boot camp and that’s exactly what it was,” says Step Up 3D star Sharni Vinson who hadn’t danced in five years. “That went on for weeks before shooting so by the time we got to that first day of filming, we were ready.”

“To be able to deliver these dancers and New York into an audience’s lap in 3D so they can feel the rush and get sucked into this world was an opportunity we couldn’t miss,” says Step Up 3D director John Chu. “Dance really lends itself to 3D technology,” says Shankman. “It’s very exciting to (more…)

Hello Lonesome, what is it to be lonely?
